What We Do
Three areas of work, each grounded in the Nation’s own inherent and Treaty jurisdiction.
Flagship service
Child & Family Services Law Development
Nation-specific Child and Family Wellbeing Laws grounded in inherent jurisdiction, Treaty relationships, traditional laws, kinship, customary care and the Nation’s own vision for its children.
Lawmaking
First Nations Lawmaking & Jurisdiction
Turning inherent and Treaty jurisdiction into practical, community-specific laws: governance, estates, citizenship, elections, land and stewardship, and more.
- Housing Policy & Governance Development
- Community engagement
Justice
Justice & Dispute Resolution
Peacemaking, restorative processes, community justice structures, diversion and dispute-resolution systems, built as part of the Nation’s own legal order.
Two things run through all three areas of work:
Implementation & Capacity-Building
Developing a law is only the beginning. Policies, regulations, procedures, forms, governance structures and implementation plans that make jurisdiction operational.
Training & Capacity-Building
Circle Keeper Training, tribunal training, law implementation and governance training — delivered on-Nation and customized to the Nation’s laws, protocols and priorities.
